Fig Cocoa Bars
1 1/3 cup quick cooking oats
2/3 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar, packed
¼ cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
½ tsp baking soda
2/3 cup unsalted butter
2 oz unsweetened chocolate, roughly chopped
½ cup Dalmatia Fig Cocoa Spread
Preheat oven to 350
In a large bowl combine oats, flour, sugar, cocoa powder, walnuts, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a microwave safe bowl combine butter and unsweetened chocolate. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each, until completely melted.
Combine the melted chocolate and dry oat mixture and stir well until all oats are completely coated. Divide mixture in half and press half firmly into a greased 8x8 dish. Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven. Place Dalmatia Fig Cocoa Spread in a small microwave safe bowl and microwave for 20 seconds to soften. Spread softened spread onto the cooked oat mixture, and then top with the remaining oat mixture, gently patting oat mixture down on top. Place back into oven for 15 minutes. Remove and allow to cool for 1 hour before slicing.
